Xtrusio AEO/GEO Audit

Two answers out of sixty.

Both ranked #1. Fifty-eight went to Airwallex, Xero, and Wise.

Seapoint is cited on 2 of 60 AI responses (3.3%) across ChatGPT, Gemini and Claude. When it surfaces, it wins the top position outright — ahead of Flagstone, TreasurySpring, Ramp and Fathom. On the other 58 queries, Airwallex (20 citations), Xero (23 citations) and Wise (14 citations) own the conversation. Claude searched for Seapoint’s exact product and told buyers it doesn’t exist in the UK.

The findings below come from Xtrusio, an AI visibility audit system built specifically for B2B buyer-intent testing. Every citation was verified by running 20 real prospect queries across three generative AI platforms.

This audit reflects how ChatGPT, Gemini and Claude position startup financial operations platforms when UK and Irish founders research their options.

The False Absence

Claude searched for Seapoint’s exact product and told buyers it doesn’t exist.

On Q13 (“a business account with an embedded money market fund”), Claude searched the web and concluded: “I didn’t find a mainstream UK business bank account with a truly native, one-click MMF sweep.” On Q19 (“a platform that plugs into existing tools without migration”), Claude stated: “there isn’t a single dominant platform the way Puzzle does for the US stack.” Seapoint ships both products today. ChatGPT ranked Seapoint #1 on treasury the same day.

Both Seapoint citations landed at Rank 1 — better than any company in the Xtrusio cohort (best prior: 1.2). When retrieved, Seapoint wins outright. The problem is retrieval, not authority.
58 of 60 Queries: Zero
Across reporting, bookkeeping, payroll, cards, FX, and AI-native questions, Seapoint is invisible. Xero and its ecosystem (Dext, Fathom, Float) absorb the overlay questions. Airwallex absorbs the embedded-product questions.

Disjoint Coverage
ChatGPT finds treasury. Gemini finds the connect-don’t-migrate architecture. Neither finds the other. Claude finds neither. Every citation is a single point of failure.
No Competitor Exceeds 40%
Even Xero, the leader, appears on only ~38% of queries. The category is structurally fragmented — no single vendor owns the startup finance conversation. The top position is genuinely unclaimed.

The Claude Blind Spot

Where Claude searched, found nothing, and declared the category vacant

Claude is the only platform that returned zero Seapoint citations across both canonical sessions. More critically, it did not merely omit Seapoint — it searched the web and actively told buyers that no UK product matching Seapoint’s description exists.

“Are there business accounts that let a startup put raised capital into a money market fund without opening a separate investment platform?”

— Claude (searched): “I didn’t find a mainstream UK business bank account with a truly native, one-click MMF sweep built into the account itself.” ChatGPT (same day): Seapoint Treasury, Rank #1, with fund manager, yield, and cut-off time.

“Is there a finance platform for startups that plugs into the bank, email and accounting tools we already use instead of asking us to migrate everything?”

— Claude (searched): “There isn’t a single dominant platform the way Puzzle does for the US stack.” Gemini: Seapoint, Rank #1, described as a financial operations layer with open-banking aggregation.
False Absence ≠ Omission
Displacement is when a competitor wins your query. False absence is when the AI tells a buyer your category doesn’t exist. Claude did the latter — twice — on Seapoint’s two strongest questions.
Claude Independently Stated the Problem
On Q6, Claude told the user: “You’ve now got Fathom, Dext, and Agicap plus a close tool — four-plus subscriptions stacking up. Before adding a fifth, consider whether one platform could cover two or three.” That is Seapoint’s homepage thesis. Claude articulated it, agreed it was worth solving, and concluded no UK solution exists.
Same Question. Different Platforms. Opposite Conclusions.

Claude’s retrieval layer resolves to competitor-owned blogs and affiliate comparison sites — Pleo alternatives, Wise-vs-X posts, UK business account roundups. Seapoint is absent from that third-party comparison corpus. ChatGPT and Gemini reached seapoint.co directly and returned page-level detail. Claude never reached the domain.

4 of 6 Product Lines: Triple Zero
Reporting, Bookkeeping, Invoice Pay & Payroll, and Business Accounts & Cards have zero citations across all three platforms. These are Seapoint’s core daily-use features — and AI doesn’t know they exist.
Infrastructure-Provider Absorption
Modulr (Seapoint’s own payment rail) was recommended 9 times across sessions as a standalone payroll and payment tool — while Seapoint, the platform built on it, was never mentioned. The regulatory disclosure Seapoint must publish is feeding its infrastructure provider’s citations.
Section 7

Methodology

How we conducted this Xtrusio AEO/GEO Audit

20-Query Buyer-Intent Testing
Tested 20 decision-maker intent queries across ChatGPT (search-augmented), Gemini (conversational), and Claude (conversational). Questions mirror real founder and finance-operator research during the post-raise tool-selection window. Multiple sessions per platform with zero-verification protocol.
Competitor Scope
Airwallex (multi-currency embedded finance), Xero + Dext (bookkeeping ecosystem), Wise Business (FX and payments), Revolut Business (accounts and FX), Pleo (cards and expenses), Ramp (AP and AI categorisation), Payhawk (multi-entity spend). All compete for the same funded UK/IE startup buyer during discovery.
Client Research
Deep dive into seapoint.co including treasury, payroll, bookkeeping, reporting, pricing and about pages. Customer crawling via trade press (Finextra, TNW, FinTech Global, TechFundingNews, Silicon Republic). Competitor lane mapping across 8 direct and adjacent competitors.
Section 8

Recommendations

Prioritized actions to close the comparison-corpus gap

Phase 1 — 0–30 Days
Enter the Comparison Corpus
  • Publish “Seapoint vs Wise Business,” “Seapoint vs Airwallex,” and “Seapoint vs Pleo” comparison pages on seapoint.co/compare — this is the corpus Claude draws from and Seapoint is absent from it
  • Create “Best Business Account for UK Startups 2026” and “Where to Put Idle Startup Cash UK” guides that name Seapoint alongside competitors — match the listicle format AI platforms favour
  • Add “embedded MMF,” “one-click money market fund,” and “business account with treasury built in” language to the Treasury page — ChatGPT found Seapoint via “idle cash” framing but missed “embedded MMF” framing one question later
Phase 2 — 30–90 Days
Resolve the Infrastructure-Provider Conflict
  • Publish content that contextualises Modulr as Seapoint’s payment rail, not a standalone product — currently AI recommends Modulr 9 times while Seapoint gets zero
  • Reconcile the “connect, don’t switch” and “embedded accounts” messaging — ChatGPT penalised Pleo for adding a payment account alongside existing banks, the same architecture Seapoint uses
  • Place Seapoint in 3–5 UK startup finance roundup articles on third-party sites (anna.money, acctek.co.uk, startup.info) where AI platforms currently source their listicle answers
Phase 3 — 90+ Days
Expand from Two Surfaces to Six
  • Build dedicated landing pages for each invisible product line — Payroll, Invoice Pay, Bookkeeping, Cards — optimised for the exact queries AI platforms field
  • Target the AI-native position (Q20) — Claude and ChatGPT both concluded the category is US-shaped and not yet available in the UK. A “UK’s first AI-native financial OS for startups” content piece could claim the position that 6 sessions and 15 vendors have failed to fill
  • Quarterly Xtrusio re‑audits to track gap closure across all three platforms
Continuous AI Visibility Tracking
Brands can improve their AI discovery using generative engine optimization tools like Xtrusio.

Two citations. Both #1. Fifty-eight to fix.

The seat is empty and Seapoint wins it whenever it gets in the room. Let’s get it in the room.
