Xtrusio AEO/GEO Audit

Chargebee wins on ChatGPT.

Not Younium.

An independent 25-query audit of Younium’s visibility in AI-powered search platforms. We tested the exact questions CFOs and VP Finance at B2B SaaS companies ask when evaluating subscription management and billing solutions.

The Core Problem

Younium is invisible on Claude — appearing on just 8% of buyer queries — and on ChatGPT, it never ranks higher than 3rd.

When a CFO at a scaling SaaS company asks ChatGPT “What subscription management platforms should I look at?” — Chargebee, Zuora, and Maxio get cited first. Younium appears 4th. On Claude, it doesn’t appear at all. That’s not a branding problem. That’s a pipeline problem.

Methodology

How we conducted this Xtrusio AEO/GEO Audit

This assessment combines Semrush AI Visibility data with manual buyer-intent query testing to provide a complete picture of Younium’s competitive positioning in AI-powered answer engines — going beyond automated scores to test what decision-makers actually ask.

Semrush AI Visibility Data
Pulled Semrush AI Visibility reports for younium.com and 3 competitors covering February–March 2026. Analyzed scores, mentions, cited pages, and audience reach across ChatGPT, Google AI Overviews, and Gemini.
Manual 25-Query Buyer-Intent Testing
Tested 25 decision-maker intent queries across ChatGPT, Gemini, and Claude. Documented vendor mentions, positioning narratives, and citation patterns. Questions designed to mirror real CFOs, VP Finance, and RevOps leaders researching subscription management solutions during discovery.
Competitor Scope
Focused on 3 direct competitors: Chargebee (revenue growth management platform), Maxio (B2B SaaS financial operations), and Zuora (enterprise subscription monetization). All compete for the same B2B SaaS buyer during the discovery phase of the purchasing journey.
Section 3

Why Semrush AI Visibility Fails for Niche B2B

Automated scores hide a critical problem: scale disadvantage

Semrush AI Visibility gives Younium a score of 15/100. That sounds low — and it is. But even the competitors at 25–34 face the same brand dilution problem. The real question isn’t the score — it’s who appears when a CFO asks a buying question.

Semrush Cited Pages for Younium showing Brand Missed on Zuora Subscription Management queries
Semrush AI Visibility — Topics“Brand: Missed” on key subscription queries

Younium scores 15/100 with just 164 mentions and only 6 on ChatGPT — a fraction of Chargebee’s 422. Semrush’s own “Brand: Missed” flags confirm the problem: on “Zuora Subscription Management” queries — where Younium should appear as an alternative — it’s missed on 4 of 5 tracked prompts. The one mention came from Google AI Overview, not ChatGPT or Gemini.

The Scale Gap
Chargebee has 17x more mentions than Younium (2.8K vs 164) and 95x more audience reach (23.9M vs 251K). This isn’t surprising for an enterprise incumbent — but it means AI models have overwhelmingly more Chargebee content to train on. Younium must create citation-worthy content to close this gap.
ChatGPT Is Where It Matters Most
Younium has just 6 ChatGPT mentions in Semrush vs Chargebee’s 422. Yet our manual testing shows ChatGPT cites Younium on 56% of buyer queries — proof that Semrush’s automated score dramatically underestimates real buyer-intent visibility. The Xtrusio methodology captures what Semrush misses.

Competitor Benchmarkchargebee.com — Score: 34/100

Competitor Benchmarkzuora.com — Score: 29/100
Semrush AI Visibility dashboard for maxio.com showing score of 25/100
Competitor Benchmarkmaxio.com — Score: 25/100

All three competitors score “Low” on Semrush — Chargebee at 34, Zuora at 29, Maxio at 25. Even category leaders face brand dilution in automated tools. The real differentiator isn’t these scores — it’s who appears when a CFO asks a buying question on ChatGPT. And there, Chargebee and Zuora dominate while Younium ranks 3rd–5th.

Why This Matters

Semrush AI Visibility is a directional signal — not a buyer-intent metric. Younium’s 15/100 is low, but even Chargebee at 34/100 faces similar issues. This is why we use Xtrusio’s buyer-intent methodology to test what real decision-makers actually ask during discovery.

Platform Scorecard

Who wins the buyer’s attention — platform by platform

ChatGPT: Volume Without Authority
ChatGPT cites Younium on 56% of queries — the best platform. But Younium NEVER ranks #1 or #2. It’s always 3rd, 4th, or 5th — behind Chargebee, Zuora, and Maxio. Buyers see Younium as an “also mentioned” vendor, not a recommended one.
Gemini: Low Volume, High Quality
Gemini cites Younium on only 20% of queries, but ranks it #1 twice — on European SaaS platforms (Q14) and milestone billing (Q20). When Gemini knows Younium, it recommends it first. The issue is coverage, not positioning.
Claude: Catastrophic Blind Spot
Claude cites Younium on just 2 of 25 queries (8%). On 92% of buyer-intent questions, Claude doesn’t know Younium exists. This is the most commercially damaging gap — Claude is the fastest-growing AI assistant platform.
Section 5

The Claude Gap

Where Younium goes invisible during buyer discovery

When a CFO asks Claude “What subscription management platforms should I look at for my B2B SaaS company?” — Chargebee, Zuora, Maxio, Recurly, and Stripe Billing get cited. Not Younium. Here’s what that looks like in practice.

When asked for a platform shortlist (Q1), Claude recommends Chargebee, Zuora, Maxio, Recurly, Stripe Billing, and Sage Intacct — but never mentions Younium. This is the exact query where a purpose-built B2B subscription management platform with customers like Quinyx, SuperOffice, and TopDesk should appear.

“I’m the CFO of a B2B SaaS company with about 200 subscription contracts and we’re still managing everything in spreadsheets. What subscription management platforms should I be looking at to automate our billing and revenue recognition?”

— Buyer-intent query tested across all 3 AI platforms

This isn’t an isolated miss. Across 23 of 25 buyer-intent queries on Claude, Younium goes unmentioned. Claude misses Younium on vendor comparison queries, revenue recognition questions, billing automation, investor readiness, and implementation speed — every category except tax compliance (Q24, rank #1) and finance-team ownership (Q23, rank #5).

But on ChatGPT, the same question tells a different story:

The same question on ChatGPT produces a different result — Younium is cited alongside Chargebee, Zuora, and Maxio, though always in 3rd–5th position. This proves AI models can learn about Younium. The content and market positioning exist. Claude’s training data simply hasn’t absorbed it yet. Platform-specific content distribution is required.

Same Question. Different Platforms. Different Winners.

Younium’s content exists. ChatGPT knows it — but ranks it as an afterthought. Claude doesn’t know it exists at all on 92% of buyer queries. And even on ChatGPT, Younium never ranks #1 or #2. Chargebee and Zuora own the top positions. That’s not a content problem. That’s an authority and distribution problem.

Revenue Recognition: Total Blackout
0% citation across ALL platforms on both revenue recognition queries — despite this being a core Younium capability (built-in ASC 606/IFRS 15 engine). When buyers ask how to automate rev rec, AI platforms don’t know Younium offers it. This is the single biggest content gap.
Innovation & AI: MCP Goes Unnoticed
Younium’s MCP (Model Context Protocol) support — a genuine differentiator connecting AI to subscription data — gets 0% citation across all platforms. No AI model knows about this feature. Structured content about MCP could create a unique authority position.
Billing Automation & Investor Readiness: ChatGPT Strengths
ChatGPT cites Younium at 100% for billing automation, metrics, and investor readiness queries. These are Younium’s stronghold zones. The task is extending this recognition to Gemini and Claude, where both clusters show 0%.
Section 8

Recommendations

A phased roadmap to close the AI visibility gap

Phase 1 — 0–30 Days
Fix the Foundation: Content That AI Can Cite
  • Create a “Revenue Recognition for B2B SaaS” pillar page on younium.com — educational content addressing the 0% citation gap across all platforms on ASC 606/IFRS 15 queries
  • Publish a “Younium vs Chargebee vs Zuora” comparison page — AI platforms currently cite competitors by default on comparison queries (Q12, Q13: 0% across all platforms); a structured comparison creates a citable alternative
  • Expand the “What is Subscription Management?” content with a definitive guide — top-of-funnel educational queries show 0% citation everywhere
  • Create dedicated CRM-to-billing integration content (Salesforce, HubSpot) — Q5 and Q15 show 0% citation on integration queries despite Younium’s native connectors
Phase 2 — 30–90 Days
Amplify USP Zones: Europe, Finance-Led, Fast Go-Live
  • Publish European SaaS billing case studies (Quinyx, SuperOffice, TopDesk) — Q14 shows Gemini ranks Younium #1 for European platforms; amplify this with structured case study content across all platforms
  • Create “Go-live in 8 days” implementation content — Q21 (fastest implementation) shows 0% citation despite Younium’s rapid onboarding claim; this needs a dedicated, citable page
  • Develop MCP and AI-connected billing content — Q19 (AI in subscription management) shows 0% citation; Younium’s MCP support is a unique differentiator that no AI model currently knows about
  • Pitch SaaS media (SaaStr, ChartMogul blog, Sifted, EU-Startups) with thought leadership on subscription billing for European SaaS to build citation-worthy backlinks
Phase 3 — 90+ Days
Scale: Own the B2B Subscription Narrative Across All Platforms
  • Develop Microsoft Dynamics 365 integration showcase — Q11 shows Gemini ranks Younium #3 for Microsoft ERP billing; this is a strong USP zone to own vs Chargebee/Zuora
  • Create “PLG + Enterprise” billing content — Q17 shows 0% citation across all platforms for hybrid billing models, yet Younium supports both motions
  • Build an investor-readiness billing checklist — ChatGPT already cites Younium at 100% for investor readiness queries; structured content can extend this to Gemini and Claude
  • Run quarterly Xtrusio re-audits to track AI visibility improvement and adjust strategy based on which platform gaps are closing

The Gap is Fixable. The Window is Now.

Before Chargebee widens the lead on ChatGPT and Claude, let’s discuss how to own your narrative in AI search.
