Bahrain housing eligibility and documents, explained

Looking for a government home or flat in Bahrain? The main request is for a Bahraini head of family aged 21 to 50, with income no more than BHD 900 when applying. Your papers depend on how you earn. Employees need a stamped salary statement from this month. Retirees need a recent stamped retirement certificate. If you work for yourself, you need the Bank Accounts Inquiry Authorization Form.

A home, flat or plot uses the main housing request. Mazaya has its own age limit. Temporary housing is for people who already have a housing request. Pick the service you want before comparing the figures.

Who can ask for a home?

A previous housing benefit can change the answer. This request excludes you if you or a family member has already received a service to own a home.

If your husband is an expatriate, check the family categories. A Bahraini wife married to an expatriate is listed among the eligible families if she has a minor Bahraini son.

Which age and income rules fit your request?

Find your service in the table before using any income figure. A plot has a different range from a home or flat. Mazaya and temporary housing have their own tests.

For a home or flat, BHD 900 is the income ceiling when you apply; BHD 1,200 is the ceiling when it is allocated. If you want a plot, use its range instead.

What papers do you need?

If you have a job, you need a stamped salary statement issued in the month you apply. Have a statement from last month? Ask for a new one before applying.

Retired applicants need an original retirement certificate that shows bonuses. It must be stamped and no more than one month old. If you work for yourself, fill in the Bank Accounts Inquiry Authorization Form.

Your family situation may change the list too. A divorced applicant in the second category needs a copy of the Continuity of Child Custody issued within the past year. Check which category fits you before collecting it.

Before you open the form

Choose your route, then compare your age, income and family situation with that route. Have the relevant pay or retirement paper ready on your phone. If its date is too old, ask for a new copy before you begin.

Go to the official housing request service for a home, plot or ownership flat. It starts with eKey sign-in. Follow the document list for your case in the live form.

If you need Mazaya or temporary housing, use the official eligibility page to find that route. Read their conditions there before applying.
