LMRA Medical Test in Bahrain: Appointment, Documents and Result Check
By Gaurav Agarwal · Official sources checked 6 October 2026
Match the worker and permit case, use the official pre-employment appointment, attend the assigned or authorised facility, and keep the receipt and attendance reference. Use the separate Imapro guide for the final result lookup.

01Nine of ten observed results were social posts
Only the first result observed for “LMRA medical test Bahrain” was official; the next nine were Facebook or Instagram pages. That creates a clear evidence gap. The safe route is to use the work-permit case, official appointment and authorised facility rather than a clinic advertisement.
This page covers the appointment and evidence process. The existing Imapro medical-result checker guide handles result lookup. The two pages link to each other but answer different tasks.

02Who uses the expatriate medical-check route
MOH's Expatriate Health Check Up page describes the check as compulsory for expatriates applying for a Bahrain work permit. It says authorised private medical facilities conduct the examination and the MOH medical committee issues the final fitness result for submission to the LMRA system.
This is not an ordinary general-practice appointment. The worker, sponsor and work-permit identifiers must match. Family residency, domestic work, annual checks and new work permits can have different routes. Use the instruction attached to the live application.
The LMRA Foreign Employees' Guide tells workers to use approved centres before travel where required and describes medical appointment coordination after arrival. Check the current guide version and the individual permit record.
03Before travelling to Bahrain
Where the application requires an overseas examination, use the approved medical-centre route for the country of origin. Do not assume that any hospital certificate will satisfy the permit process. Match the applicant's passport, application and appointment details before paying.
- Worker name exactly as shown in the passport.
- Passport number and validity.
- Work-permit or application reference.
- Approved centre shown by the official route.
- Appointment and payment receipt.
- Instructions for submitting the report.
Keep the original certificate and electronic reference. The overseas check does not replace the Bahrain stage where the live work-permit process requires another examination.
04Book or manage the Bahrain appointment
The MOH Pre-Employment Appointments service allows sponsors to book, reschedule and view expatriate health-check appointments and view the fitness report. Its current instructions use the commercial registration number, mobile number and expatriate CPR, then allow the user to verify details, select the appointment type and choose a date and time.
MOH's broader appointments directory lists pre-employment expatriate checks as a separate service. The ordinary health-centre booking page does not include this fitness examination. Do not create a general-practice booking for a permit medical test.
For a worker already in Bahrain, the MOH service page says booking is handled through LMRA branches. For a missed appointment, it says to contact the assigned medical facility for the earliest appointment. Follow the live case instruction rather than starting a second unrelated appointment.

05Check that the facility is authorised for the process
MOH says NHRA-authorised private facilities conduct expatriate medical checks. Use the official authorised medical institutions list supplied by LMRA, then check the live permit appointment. Because provider lists can change, a dated PDF should be cross-checked with the current system.
NHRA's licensed-facilities data can confirm the legal health institution and branch. General NHRA licensing and authorisation for this specific programme are related but separate checks. A licensed clinic is not automatically the assigned work-permit testing facility.
Match the name on the appointment slip, the provider's legal name and the branch address. Save the official list or appointment screen checked that day.
06Prepare an appointment evidence file
Follow the documents stated on the appointment and permit case. At minimum, reconcile the passport, CPR where issued, work-permit reference and appointment slip. Bring only the additional photographs, forms or records required by the live process.
| Stage | Evidence to keep | Mismatch to prevent |
|---|---|---|
| Permit | Application or permit reference | Wrong worker or sponsor case |
| Appointment | Facility, branch, date and service type | General visit instead of permit examination |
| Identity | Passport and CPR data | Spelling, number or date mismatch |
| Payment | Official receipt | Untraceable agent payment |
| Completion | Attendance or provider reference | No evidence when result is delayed |
Ask the facility how the result is transmitted. The MOH page says the final committee result goes to the LMRA system, so a paper laboratory result is not necessarily the final work-permit decision.
07Check the final result without duplicating the process
Use the official result service and the same identifiers as the appointment. The medical-result guide explains the lookup fields, status handling and evidence steps in detail.
A pending status can mean the authorised process has not reached a final result. It should not be interpreted from a social post or agent message. Keep the appointment and receipt until the LMRA-linked case is complete. Retain copies until the work-permit transaction is fully closed.
Do not publish a worker's CPR, passport, medical result or appointment slip when asking for help. Use LMRA, MOH and the assigned facility through verified contacts.
08Fix a booking, identity or result problem
Start with the party that controls the stage. Use LMRA for the permit or applicant record, the appointment service for booking data, the assigned facility for attendance evidence, and the official result channel for status. Give each party the same permit and identity references.
Common failures include a different passport number, incomplete CPR issuance, wrong sponsor record, missed appointment, wrong branch or duplicate booking. Ask for a written reference when a correction is opened.

For a professional or facility complaint, use the provider process and then the NHRA guide where the issue falls within the regulator's role. Employment and permit disputes may require LMRA instead.
09Questions about the LMRA medical test
Can I use any private clinic?
No. Use the facility assigned or authorised for the expatriate medical-check process and verify the current list.
Can the worker book the appointment personally?
The current MOH service describes sponsor booking using the commercial registration and worker CPR. Follow the live application route.
Is the general health-centre appointment service the same?
No. MOH lists pre-employment checks separately from ordinary general-practice appointments.
Where do I check the result?
Use the official result route and the existing Imapro result-check guide linked above.
What if the appointment is missed?
MOH says to contact the assigned medical facility to arrange the earliest appointment, then retain the new reference.
