Practical guide

What is the Bahrain postal code format?

By Gaurav Agarwal · Updated 17 October 2026

Use your three or four digit block number when a form asks for a Bahrain postal code. Official Bahrain addresses place that number after the city or area, such as Manama 315 and Hamad Town 1212. Keep a P.O. Box separate when the form has its own P.O. Box field.

01Copy this Bahrain address order

Write the recipient name first, then the flat and building, then the road, area and block number. Government forms treat the building, road and block as separate address parts.

A practical phone form can be completed in this order:

  1. Recipient name
  2. Flat number and building number
  3. Road or avenue number
  4. Area or city followed by the block number
  5. BAHRAIN as the country for international mail

02Three and four digit examples from Bahrain Post

The official directory shows Isa Town 810. It also shows Sanad 745, Manama 315 and Riffa 912. It also shows Hamad Town 1212, so both three and four digit block numbers appear in official address listings.

These are examples of real service centre addresses. Use the block for your own property, rather than copying a nearby post office's number.

03How to confirm the right block number

Check an official address document for the property, such as the address shown on a registered lease or address record. The municipal service form asks for block, road and building separately.

If you are completing a delivery form, confirm all three numbers. A correct block with a wrong road or building can still point to the wrong location.

  1. Open your official property or address record.
  2. Find Block Number.
  3. Match the building and road numbers on the same record.
  4. Enter the block in the postal code or ZIP field.
  5. Add the area name and a reachable Bahrain phone number when the delivery form requests them.

04Block number and postal box are different fields

A block identifies the local address area. A postal box is an assigned mail box. The Ministry of Works publishes Building 86, Road 1802, Block 318. It lists postal box 5 separately.

If a website offers both fields, place the block in the postal code field and the assigned box number in the postal box field. Do not invent a box number when you do not have one.

Do not swap these numbers

Building numberThe building at the address
Road numberThe road or avenue at the address

05What to do when a website rejects the entry

Start with digits only if the field accepts only numbers. Use the full block number, including all four digits when your address has four. The official Hamad Town example ends in 1212.

If the site forces five digits, do not guess that adding a zero is officially required. Check the seller's address help or contact its support because the checked Bahrain government pages do not publish a separate five digit national format.

  1. Try the block number exactly as shown on your address record.
  2. Remove spaces or labels such as Block if the field accepts digits only.
  3. Keep the city or area in its own field.
  4. Use the site's support route if it insists on a different length.

06Where to ask about a postal address

The locator is provided by the Ministry of Transportation and Telecommunications and includes post office addresses, contacts, hours and available services.

For a postal enquiry, the official directory lists [email protected]. Include the area and the address components you are trying to confirm, but do not send passwords or eKey details.

07What the official pages don't say

The checked Bahrain government pages do not publish a separate nationwide list labelled ZIP codes. They show address blocks and official address examples instead. Use the block attached to your exact property, and contact Bahrain Post if a postal service needs confirmation.
