Practical guide
My Bahrain Good Conduct Certificate has wrong details. How can I correct it from abroad?
By Gaurav Agarwal · Updated 14 October 2026
No. The official Good Conduct Certificate page publishes no correction route, so do not pay for a third identical application yet. Email the Directorate of Criminal Information at [email protected]. Include both certificates, both application references and proof of the correct details. Copy the request into Tawasul, or call 0097377777333 from abroad, and ask for a case reference.
01Which record needs to be corrected?
The official PCC page explains how to issue a certificate, but it does not publish a self-service route to amend one that has already been issued. First ask the service provider to identify whether the error is in the certificate request or in a separate identity or civil record.
Do not assume that a wrong certificate proves the underlying CPR record is wrong. The public pages do not state which source supplies the printed name, birthplace or purpose.
| What is wrong | What to send | What to ask |
|---|---|---|
| Name or birthplace | Passport data page, incorrect certificate and both application references | Which source record or request field produced this value? |
| Purpose | Incorrect certificate and the exact purpose selected or requested | Can the issued certificate be corrected, or must a new request use a different purpose? |
| Several fields | A comparison table showing printed value and correct value | Should one support case cover all fields? |
| Civil record already has a pending update | Civil-record update reference | Can the PCC be corrected only after that request is completed? |
02Prepare one correction file before contacting support
The Good Conduct Certificate service requires a valid passport copy, a recent photograph and a letter from the applicant. Use those same identity documents as evidence, while making clear that you are requesting correction guidance for an issued certificate.
Put both failed application numbers in one timeline. Show the first issue date, the second application date and the repeated errors. Redact any copy that will be shared publicly; send full documents only through an official channel.
- Save both issued certificates as separate files.
- Create a two-column list: printed value and correct value.
- Attach the current passport data page and the letter from the applicant.
- Add both application references, payment receipts and issue dates.
- State that you are outside Bahrain and provide a reachable email and phone number.
03Use the official support routes from outside Bahrain
The Ministry of Interior Directorate of Criminal Information is the listed service provider. Call the Government Services Contact Center from outside Bahrain on 0097377777333. The Contact Center is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
Live Chat is available every day from 8:00 AM to 10:00 PM. Use it when you need the correct service path before uploading identity documents. Ask for a case reference and repeat it in every follow-up.
Contact the issuing Directorate of Criminal Information directly at [email protected]. Its contact page lists 17872373 for the Southern Governorate Division under telephone numbers and appointment booking. The page does not show an international dialling format for that number, so check the dialling code before calling from abroad.
If someone in Bahrain can ask about an in-person route
The CRI contact page lists the Licensing and Certification Issuance Unit at Visual Center with working hours from 07:30 to 14:00. A representative could ask that office which correction route applies, but the page does not say that a representative may submit or collect a corrected certificate. Confirm authorization requirements first.
04Open a tracked Tawasul inquiry if support needs documents
Tawasul accepts inquiries for participating government entities and allows supporting documents. This makes it useful when you need a written trail with certificates and references.
Choose the entity and service shown by the current Tawasul form. Do not guess an entity from an unofficial guide. Describe the issue as an already issued Good Conduct Certificate with repeated incorrect fields.
Tawasul lists five working days for critical inquiries and fifteen working days for non-critical inquiries. These are the published process times for the platform, not a promise that the corrected certificate will be issued within that period.
05Use the civil-record edit service only when that record is involved
The iGA Edit and Request Status Enquiry service covers previously submitted applications for ID cards and civil-registry updates, including modifications when necessary. It requires an earlier online application.
That service is not described as an issued PCC correction tool. Use it only if iGA or MOI confirms that the underlying ID or civil-registry request is the problem. Its listed process time is one working day for the enquiry service.
- Open the status service and select the type of request previously submitted.
- Enter the required information and view the status.
- If the service displays a modification message, use its edit option.
- Give the resulting reference to PCC support.
06Check the normal overseas PCC requirements before any new request
The official service covers foreigners who previously lived in Bahrain. Applications from abroad can only be submitted through bahrain.bh. If the applicant is outside Bahrain and has not previously registered biometrics with the Ministry of Interior, the service requires ten fingerprints and palm prints.
For non-Bahrainis, the page also lists copies of the Bahraini ID card and residence permit. The published fee is BHD 1 per copy and the listed process time is five working days. Confirm with support whether a correction requires a new paid request before paying again.
07What the official pages don't say
The official pages do not publish a button or form specifically for correcting an already issued Good Conduct Certificate. They do not say whether a wrong name, birthplace or purpose came from the PCC request, the civil registry, an old Bahrain identity record or another source.
They also do not promise a refund for a repeated incorrect application. Ask the service provider to identify the source field and required correction before submitting or paying for another certificate.
08FAQs
Can I correct the issued PCC online?
The public PCC page does not publish a correction button for an issued certificate. Open a support case with the Ministry of Interior service references and evidence.
Can I apply from outside Bahrain?
Yes. The official page says applications from abroad can only be submitted through bahrain.bh. Extra fingerprint and palm-print requirements apply if MOI biometrics were not previously registered.
Should I change my CPR record first?
Only if iGA or MOI confirms that the underlying identity or civil record is wrong. The separate edit service covers previously submitted ID and civil-registry requests, not issued PCC corrections.
What documents should I send with the correction request?
Send both incorrect certificates, both application references, the current passport data page, the letter from the applicant and a precise printed-versus-correct comparison. The passport and letter are official PCC requirements.
What number can I call from abroad?
Call the Government Services Contact Center on 0097377777333 from outside Bahrain. It is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
Will I have to pay BHD 1 again?
BHD 1 per copy is the published issue fee. The official page does not say whether correction of an issued certificate requires another fee, so confirm before reapplying.
