Arab Shield, Shield and Arabia Insurance in Bahrain: Check the Name
By Gaurav Agarwal · Sources checked 6 October 2026
These names do not identify one company. Arabian Shield Cooperative Insurance presents itself as a Saudi insurer. Shield Insurtech Brokers is a Bahrain insurance intermediary. Arabia Insurance operates a Bahrain branch. Verify the exact legal name and licence before paying.

01Three names, three different identities
| Name found online | What the official site indicates | What to verify |
|---|---|---|
| Arabian Shield Cooperative Insurance | Saudi insurer | Saudi regulator and official domain |
| Shield Insurtech Brokers | Bahrain intermediary | CBB legal name and category |
| Arabia Insurance, Bahrain branch | Foreign insurer branch in Bahrain | CBB insurer category and licence details |
A search result, logo or shortened brand is not proof that a company is authorised for the product being sold. The CBB Licensing Directory is the controlling public check for Bahrain-regulated firms.

02Verification sequence before buying
- Copy the full legal name from the quote or policy schedule.
- Search that name in the CBB directory.
- Check the licence category, status and any remarks.
- Confirm whether the seller is an insurer, broker, aggregator or another intermediary.
- Match the email domain, website and payment beneficiary to an official source.
- Ask which legal entity carries the insurance risk and issues the policy.
- Save the dated directory result, quote, receipt and policy wording.
03What each role means for the customer
An insurer accepts the risk and is named on the policy. A broker or aggregator can arrange or compare cover but does not become the insurer merely because the transaction occurred on its website. The quote should identify both roles clearly.
For Arabia Insurance Bahrain, use the official Bahrain domain and compare the legal-name and licence statement there with the CBB entry. For Shield, check the exact intermediary category and identify the insurer named on the final schedule. For Arabian Shield, note that its official site is directed to Saudi operations.
Do not rely on a social profile, messaging-app number or sponsored result alone. Call the contact number published on the verified official domain if payment instructions arrive from a different channel.
04If the policy name or payee does not match
Pause payment and ask for the full legal names of the intermediary and insurer. If money has already been sent, preserve the quote, transfer record, domain, phone number and conversation. Contact the genuine company through its official channel.
For a complaint involving a CBB-licensed insurance firm, complain to that firm first and keep its reference. The CBB procedure explains the later escalation route.
05Name-check questions
Is Arabian Shield a Bahrain insurer?
Its official site presents a Saudi insurer. Check the CBB directory for any Bahrain entity before assuming local authorisation.
Is Shield the insurer on my policy?
Check the final schedule. An intermediary can arrange cover while another licensed insurer carries the risk.
Is Arabia Insurance the same as Arabian Shield?
No. Their official sites identify different companies.
What name should appear on a bank transfer?
Use only payment instructions confirmed through the verified official company channel.
07Use legal identity, domain and licence together
Similar words in brand names do not make the businesses interchangeable. Shield's about page describes a Bahrain insurance broker and aggregator. Arabia Insurance's Bahrain complaint page names its Bahrain branch and licence details. Arabian Shield's own site identifies a separate company and market.
| Check | Shield | Arabia Insurance Bahrain | Arabian Shield |
|---|---|---|---|
| Exact legal entity | Read the footer and CBB entry | Read the Bahrain branch disclosure | Read the company's own market disclosure |
| Primary regulator check | CBB directory | CBB directory | Regulator for the market shown on its site |
| Role | Broker or aggregator | Insurance firm branch | Separate insurer outside this Bahrain name check |
| Safe payment test | Match the regulated checkout entity | Match the Bahrain branch or authorised channel | Do not assume a Bahrain policy is offered |
Always use the current CBB Licensing Directory for the Bahrain entities.
08Worked example: a message says only “Shield insurance”
Hypothetical example: a driver receives a renewal message using the word “Shield” but no legal company name. The driver does not use the payment link. Instead, they open the known company site manually, compare the sender's domain and phone number, identify the insurer that would issue the certificate and verify the relevant Bahrain entity in the CBB directory.
- Ask for the exact legal entity and its role.
- Identify the insurer named on the draft certificate.
- Check the domain character by character.
- Confirm the payee before entering card details.
- Download the insurer-issued certificate after payment.
A familiar logo or similar-sounding name is not enough. The policy schedule, receipt and directory record should form one consistent identity chain.
09Send a complaint to the entity that handled the problem
A sales or comparison complaint may begin with the broker. A coverage or claim decision usually needs the insurer named on the policy. Arabia Insurance publishes a Bahrain complaint process that also identifies the branch and escalation route. Shield publishes its verified contact page.
Keep the quote, certificate, receipt and complaint reference. If the licensed Bahrain provider does not resolve the matter, follow the CBB insurance complaint procedure.
Is Shield the same company as Arabian Shield?
No. Treat the legal entities and their markets separately.
Which name should appear in a claim complaint?
Use the insurer named on the policy and include any broker or aggregator involved in the transaction where relevant.
