Bahrain Golden Residency Employee Application Pending: How to Follow Up
By Gaurav Agarwal · Updated 12 October 2026
Check the status on Bahrain.bh under Requests and Golden Residencies Visa Management, then call 17484000 or use the inquiry form; a month is beyond the published five working days for employee applications.
01Which follow-up step fits your case?
Start with the portal status, then contact the Golden Residency team if the status has not changed. The official route is the Bahrain.bh Golden Residency portal under Requests and Golden Residencies Visa Management.
| Situation | Next action | Official basis |
|---|---|---|
| You have not checked the portal today | Open Requests and Golden Residencies Visa Management | This is the official status route |
| Employee application is pending beyond five working days | Call 17484000 with the application details | Employee applications are listed as five working days |
| You want a written follow-up | Submit the official inquiry form | The contact page says a team member will respond |
| The portal requests updated evidence | Check the employee and general document list before uploading | The official FAQ lists the evidence |
02Check the application status first
The official FAQ directs applicants to the Golden Residency portal on Bahrain.bh. Open Requests and Golden Residencies Visa Management.
Bahrain residents can apply using eKey 2.0.
- Open the official Golden Residency portal on Bahrain.bh.
- Select Requests and Golden Residencies Visa Management.
- Note the status shown for your application.
- Keep your application reference and submission date, as you will need them when you call or write.
- If the status is unchanged after the published employee timetable, call 17484000.
03Follow up by phone or the official inquiry form
Call the Golden Residency hotline on 17484000 for more information about the pending request. Keep the reference, submission date and portal status in front of you.
For a written record, use the official contact form. The form marks first name, email and your inquiry as required fields (last name and mobile are not marked required), and the page says a team member will respond.
- State that the request is under the employee category.
- Give the application reference and submission date.
- Quote the current portal status exactly.
- Ask whether any document, correction or action is pending.
- Ask for the next official step and keep the reply.
What to record after the call
Write down the date, the guidance given and any requested document. If the team asks for a written inquiry, use the official form, which marks first name, email and inquiry as required. The contact page says a team member will respond.
What not to assume from a pending label
The published timetable is five working days for employee applications. A longer pending period gives you a reason to follow up, but the official pages do not define that label as approval or rejection.
04Recheck the employee-category evidence
The employee requirement is proof of average basic salary of BHD 2,000 or more during the last five years of residency, with continuous SIO insurance for that amount throughout the five-year period.
The general document list includes a passport valid for more than six months, the latest six months bank statement and a valid health insurance certificate in Bahrain. Use the portal's own request if it asks for a correction or replacement document.
| Item | Official requirement | Check before follow-up |
|---|---|---|
| Salary evidence | Average basic salary of BHD 2,000 or more during the last five years | Confirm the evidence covers the stated period |
| SIO record | Continuous SIO insurance for that amount throughout the five-year period | Check that the contribution record matches the employee claim |
| Passport | Valid for more than six months | Confirm the uploaded copy is current |
| Bank statement | Latest six months | Confirm the period is complete |
| Health insurance | Valid certificate in Bahrain | Confirm it was valid when submitted |
05Do not confuse the application and issuance fees
The official FAQ lists a BHD 5 application fee. If the application is approved, it lists a separate BHD 300 residency issuance fee.
A pending status is not the same as an instruction to pay the issuance fee. Follow the payment step shown by the official portal after approval.
Work permission is separate
Golden Residency does not remove the need for an LMRA work permit to work in Bahrain. Keep the residency follow-up separate from the employer's work-permit process.
06What the official pages don't say
The official pages do not publish a special escalation deadline for a request pending over a month, a case-specific reason for delay or a guaranteed response time for the inquiry form. They state the five-working-day employee processing time, the status menu, the hotline and the contact form. A pending status alone does not tell you whether the application will be approved or rejected.
The pages also do not tell applicants to submit a duplicate application when a request is delayed. Check the existing request in the official status menu and use the published support channels first.
