Bahrain Visa on Arrival: Check Eligibility, Fee and Entry Steps
By Gaurav Agarwal · Checked 5 October 2026
Use NPRA’s official eVisa eligibility checker before flying. Select whether you hold a valid GCC residence permit or visit visa, your visit purpose, nationality and current country. The result shows the visa options and fee that apply to you. GCC citizens from Kuwait, Oman, Saudi Arabia and the UAE do not need a visa.

01Who can get a Bahrain visa on arrival?
Bahrain’s National Portal says visitors from 69 countries can receive a visa on arrival at Bahrain International Airport. Eligibility and conditions depend on the traveler’s nationality and circumstances. GCC citizens from Kuwait, Oman, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates do not need a visa.

02Check your eligibility before travel
- Open the official NPRA Visa Selection Criteria.
- Choose whether you have a valid GCC residence permit or visit visa.
- Select the purpose of your visit.
- Select the nationality shown in your passport.
- Select the country where you are currently staying.
- Continue to see the visa types available to you and their conditions.

03Check the official on-arrival country list
Use the NPRA countries eligible for visa on arrival list. Click your country because the page marks country-specific conditions. Do not rely only on an old travel blog or airline forum.

04Read the exact visa, stay and fee shown
There is no single correct fee for every traveler. The official result varies by nationality, visa type, entry pattern and stay. Read the conditions for the offered visa and use the amount displayed by NPRA for your result.
If the result offers an online visa, follow NPRA’s application sequence. Attach the required documents, pay the first application fee, keep the reference number and wait for the decision.

05Prepare before flying
- Use the passport and nationality checked on the official form.
- Make sure the passport remains valid for the trip.
- Carry proof of accommodation, onward or return travel and funds if the airline or border officer requests them.
- Keep any GCC residence permit or visit visa used in the eligibility check available.
- Save the relevant NPRA result or conditions for reference.
Airlines apply document checks before boarding. Recheck NPRA and the airline if your passport, residence status or itinerary changes.
06What happens at Bahrain arrival
- Join the immigration queue for your travel document.
- Present the same passport used in the eligibility check.
- Answer the officer’s questions and provide supporting travel evidence if requested.
- Pay the official amount requested for the approved arrival visa route.
- Check the permitted stay and entry conditions before leaving immigration.
A visa or eligibility result does not guarantee entry. The border authority makes the final admission decision.
07If you are not eligible on arrival
Obtain an entry visa before travel through the route shown by NPRA, such as the eVisa system, a Bahrain embassy, an eligible Bahraini sponsor or an authorized travel agency. Do not fly expecting the airport to override an ineligible result.
After applying online, use the Bahrain visa status guide. If you are already in Bahrain and need more time, use the Bahrain visa extension guide.
A visit visa does not permit employment. For a job, see the Bahrain work visa guide.
