Change Your Health Centre in Bahrain: Address and Registration Steps
By Gaurav Agarwal ยท Checked 6 October 2026
To change your health centre in Bahrain after moving, make sure the residential address linked to each family member's ID is current, then visit the medical records section at the health centre serving the new address. Take the ID cards for every family member whose record must move. The Ministry of Health says the centre updates the address and phone in I-SEHA. No separate transfer fee or processing time is published on the current English service pages.

How to change your health centre in Bahrain
- Confirm that the residential address connected to the patient's Bahrain ID is current.
- Use the Ministry of Health health-centre pages to identify the centre serving the new address.
- Take the ID cards for all family members whose health records need the new address.
- Go to the medical records or appointments section at the new-address health centre.
- Ask the clerk to update the address and telephone details in the I-SEHA electronic health record.
- After the update, use the Ministry's appointment service or call 80007000 when you need a general-clinic appointment.
What to check before you go
- The residential address is updated for each person who is moving to the new health centre.
- You have the ID card for every affected family member, not only the card of the person visiting the counter.
- Your telephone number is current, because the medical records section updates both address and phone in I-SEHA.
- You know the new area, governorate and nearest Ministry of Health centre.
- You have any clinic referral, appointment message or treatment record needed for a visit that is already scheduled.
The current English Ministry page says to attend the health centre for the new residence address and present ID cards for all family members. It does not list a separate health-centre transfer form, transfer fee, tenancy contract or guaranteed completion time. If the clerk asks for another record because the address has not synchronized, follow that centre's instructions rather than uploading documents to an unrelated service.

Step by step
1. Update the residential address first
The health-centre assignment follows the area of residence, so start with the correct government address record. The Ministry's Primary Health Care portal lists an Update Residential Address service behind its customer-services login. If the ID still carries or retrieves the previous address, the new centre may be unable to complete the reassignment immediately.

2. Identify the health centre serving the new area
Open the Ministry's Health Centers directory. Search by centre name or filter the list by governorate. The directory publishes administration and appointment telephone numbers. The appointment line displayed for many centres is 80007000, but use the current directory entry when a centre lists a different number.

3. Visit medical records with the family IDs
At the health centre for the new address, ask for the medical records or appointments section. Present the ID cards for all family members whose health-centre record must change. The clerk verifies identity and updates patient information in I-SEHA. Do not send CPR numbers, medical details or ID photos through an unofficial email or messaging account.

4. Confirm the new registration before booking
Ask the clerk to confirm that the new address and centre are visible in I-SEHA. If the record still points to the old centre, ask whether the address update is pending and which office must correct it. The Ministry does not publish a current English-page turnaround time, so do not plan urgent treatment around an assumed same-day transfer.
5. Book the next appointment
Once the record is assigned correctly, use the Health Centers and Hospitals Appointments service, the SEHATI app, or the 80007000 appointment line. The online service can book, reschedule or cancel eligible appointments. It also displays pending and past Ministry appointments after patient verification.

How to find the correct health centre
The health-centre directory is useful for names and telephone numbers, while the Ministry's institutional page explains that registration is tied to the area of residence. If two centres appear close to your home, call 80007000 or the centre's administration number and give the residential block or area. Ask which centre owns that catchment before travelling.
A nearby building is not automatically the assigned centre. Some services also operate through selected centres or referral pathways. Confirm the registration centre first, then ask whether the specific clinic, dental service or test is provided there.
Changing a health centre and booking an appointment are different
| Task | Correct route |
|---|---|
| Move the patient record after changing address | Medical records section at the centre serving the new address |
| Update Ministry customer-service address data | Update Residential Address service after login |
| Book a general-clinic appointment | Online appointment service, SEHATI or 80007000 |
| Change family doctor | Separate Request to Change Your Family Doctor service |
| Urgent medical need | Use the appropriate urgent or emergency service rather than waiting for an administrative transfer |
The online appointment screen is public, but the patient-specific centre and appointment choices appear only after identity details are entered. This guide does not reproduce a logged-in patient record.
Common problems and fixes
| Problem | What to do |
|---|---|
| The old health centre still appears | Confirm the residential address first, then ask medical records at the new centre to check I-SEHA. |
| Only one family member's ID was brought | Return with the ID cards for every family member whose record needs updating. |
| The appointment site offers the wrong centre | Do not book around the mismatch. Call 80007000 and correct the registration record. |
| You selected a different doctor | The Ministry states that the centre may change the appointment when the selected doctor is not the registered family doctor. |
| No transfer fee is shown | The current pages do not publish a separate fee. Ask the centre before paying anyone, and obtain an official receipt for any charge. |
Frequently asked questions
Can I change my Bahrain health centre completely online?
The Ministry lists an online residential-address service, but its current Medical Records guidance tells people who change residence to attend the health centre for the new address with the family ID cards. Plan for an in-person medical-record check.
What documents do I need?
The current English guidance specifically names the ID cards for all family members. Keep the address current before visiting. The page does not publish a universal extra-document list for every case.
How much does a health-centre change cost?
No separate transfer fee is published on the current Ministry pages checked for this guide. This does not mean every later consultation or service is free.
How long does it take?
The current English pages do not publish a guaranteed transfer time. Ask the medical records clerk when the new centre should appear in I-SEHA before booking a non-urgent visit.
Can I simply book at another health centre?
Not reliably. The Ministry says people are registered with centres serving their residence areas, and its appointment rules allow the centre to adjust a booking when the selected doctor is not the registered family doctor.
