Bahrain Police Clearance Certificate: Online Steps, Fee and Documents

To get a Bahrain police clearance certificate, open the official Issue a Good Conduct Certificate service, choose Use eService, accept the terms, and submit the Certificate Issuance Request with Standard eKey. Bahrain calls it a Certificate of Good Conduct.
01What you need
- A copy of a valid passport
- A recent photo with a white background that follows the latest Bahrain ID card photo requirements
- A letter from the applicant
Non-Bahraini applicants also need a copy of the Bahraini ID card and a copy of the residence permit. The official service requires six continuous months of residence in Bahrain for a foreign applicant.
02How to apply online
- Open the official Issue a Good Conduct Certificate page.
- Choose Use eService.
- Read the terms and conditions, select the acceptance box, then continue.
- Choose Certificate Issuance Request. This route uses Standard eKey.
- Sign in, complete the request and attach the required files.
- Pay BHD 1 for each copy and submit.
03Fee and processing time
The official fee is BHD 1 per copy. The published process time is five working days. Paid fees are not refundable if the request is accepted or rejected.
04Fingerprints and in-person applications
The Ministry of Interior's Directorate of Criminal Information may need fingerprints and palm prints if they are not already registered in the system. The official portal lists fingerprint registration offices at Hoora, West Riffa, Budaiya, Southern Hamad Town and Muharraq police stations.
Some certificate purposes require an in-person application. If the purpose you need is not listed online, book an appointment and visit a Directorate service centre.
05Applying from outside Bahrain
Former residents outside Bahrain should choose Certificate Issuance Request for Foreigners Outside the Kingdom of Bahrain on the same service portal. Applications from abroad can only be submitted through bahrain.bh.
If the applicant is abroad and has not previously registered biometrics with Bahrain's Ministry of Interior, the official requirements list ten fingerprints and palm prints. If electronic fingerprints are not valid, mail the original fingerprint card to the General Directorate of Criminal Investigation and Forensic Science, P.O. Box 26698, Kingdom of Bahrain.
06Check, print or verify the certificate
Use Request Status Enquiry on the Good Conduct Certificate portal to check the request. The same service allows you to view and print an issued certificate.
For a certificate already issued, use Certificate Validity Verification to confirm that it is valid.
