Employment rights and working life

Use the Bahrain labour-law guide to locate the applicable private-sector rule on annual leave, working hours, notice, probation and termination. Rules differ for public servants and domestic workers. A short summary cannot determine the result of a personal employment dispute.

Domestic-worker questions

Domestic workers are covered by specified parts of the private-sector Labour Law, rather than every ordinary employee provision. Start with the current official consolidated Arabic Law 36/2012, particularly Article 2, and the applicable signed contract. Do not assume that ordinary working-hours or sick-leave rules apply unchanged. Seek the official route for an individual rights or safety problem.

For different tasks, use domestic-worker permits, permit renewals and domestic-worker insurance. These guides do not replace the employment contract or legal advice.

Schools and universities

Choose institutions using their current official admissions pages and Ministry information. Match every fee to its academic year, grade or programme and applicant category. An application, payment or directory entry is not a guarantee of admission or a universal recognition decision.

Existing government processes have separate guides: public-school registration, replacement school certificates and MOFA document attestation.

The finance hub covers banking, payments, borrowing and end-of-service administration. Use the LMRA status guide for work-permit checks and the CPR guide for identity-card services. Employment decisions, immigration steps and bank processes are separate tasks, even when a job change triggers all three.

How to use these guides

Sources were checked on 6 October 2026. Official Arabic legislation and current amendments take priority where a translated text lags. School and university fee schedules may change, so obtain the applicable written terms before paying. Each article distinguishes verified facts, dated examples and questions that require the institution’s confirmation.
